4/16: Selena, Charlot, Dusty, Claudia, Lukas, Merce, and Mancini

The real Selena was so much lovelier than the movie one.

There are so many ways to celebrate Charlie Chaplin, but the roll dance is one of the best.

Dusty Springfield! I always loved that her voice kinda sounds dusty, which doesn’t seem like it would be a good thing, but is, indeed, a great thing.

It’s Claudia Cardinale, getting in the mére of all bruits des chats with Bardot. A riot.

I know people got tired of the Amish quick, but face it, many of us including moi loved Witness when it came out. And it’s been great fun to watch Lucas Haas grow up. He seems like such a chill guy, and I love his giant eyes.

A beautiful snippet from the genius work of Merce Cunningham. Precision, grace, and a huge imagination and movement vocabulary.

You’ll have to jump to this rousing perf of Mancini leading his band in the Pink Panther. It’s pretty awesome.
