4/2: Marvin, Michael, Buddy, Emmylou, Hans, Leon, Sir Alec, Jack, Linda, and Max

What’s goin’ on? Marvin Gaye is being awesome, that’s what.

Then there’s super sexy Michael Fassbender. That accent!

Before Buddy Ebsen was Jed Clampett or Barnaby Jones, he was a big goofy dancing guy. Yeah, his shoulders are weird, and he really can’t sing. But this clip is fun not just for him, but also for Jimmy Stewart, who’s really a delight.

Another delight: A very young Emmylou Harris.

There are so many wonderful haunting Hans Christian Andersen stories. These illustrations by Edmund Delac are properly intricate, beautiful, and evocative.

Here’s the wonderful Leon Russell, in rare (well, it’s on YouTube, so it’s not that rare) footage from 1971.

This Sir Alec Guinness only begins with the inevitable mention of Obi Wan Kenobi, but then thankfully goes on to highlight his dozens of wonderful films. Kind Hearts and Coronets and Hobson’s Choice are missing, but Great Expectations and Oliver Twist are here, as is interview footage. He’s adorable.

Jack Webb is not adorable, but he’s such a dork, and this trailer is so earnest it’s sort of sweet in a weird Sgt. Friday scold-y kind of way. And Pete Kelly’s blues? Awesome.

Here’s Linda Hunt winning her Oscar. She’s pretty adorable in a badass way.

Ending with a definite badass in art, Max Ernst. Also, like, what the hell is this picture of?
